Our client is independently owned, based in the South East with a branch network spanning Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire. They recruit talented, ambitious people who add value to the organisation. It takes a talented person to be a recruitment consultant. Their industry is competitive, so consultants must promote their services proactively through business to business sales. They invest in various marketing initiatives but the best way to increase business is by telephone sales. By speaking directly to employers, consultants gain an understanding of individual businesses and the local employment market. All sales are 'business to business', comprising of cold and warm calling. Although consultants often come from a telesales background, they offer in-depth sales training to potential consultants with drive, ambition and genuine sales potential.
As with any sales of this type most of the sales person's efforts result in rejection. It takes a resilient person to focus on the ten percent of calls that will ensure success. Much of what separates a good agency from a poor one is quality of service. The most common criticism of poor agencies, is that they mis-match candidates to vacancies. Their consultants are trained to interview candidates in-depth, spending approximately one hour with each. They probe skills, strengths, weaknesses, personal preferences and aspirations. The candidate's relevant skills are then assessed using specialist software. If these steps are followed properly the consultant can be confident in matching candidates to vacancies. Good matching gains a professional reputation with candidates and clients alike.
